Secondhand Stories began with a simple but stubborn idea: books deserve better than a landfill, and people deserve a cozy place to fall in love with reading all over again. What started as a personal mission to rescue well-loved stories quickly turned into something much bigger.

It all began in the dining room of Sarah’s home—stacks of donated books slowly taking over every spare corner. One day she realized she wasn’t just collecting books; she was building a bookstore. As the mountain of stories grew, so did the dream. Eventually, the only logical next step was a leap of faith. Sarah signed the lease on a tiny brick-and-mortar space tucked in the heart of Kokomo, IN, and Secondhand Stories officially found its home.

Since then, the shop has earned the nickname “Kokomo’s Coziest Bookstore,” and it’s a title worn with pride. Every shelf holds treasure—some nostalgic, some unexpected, all waiting to be discovered. Whether you’re hunting for your next great read, wandering through for a moment of quiet, or simply soaking in the warm, whimsical atmosphere, we’re grateful you’re here.
